To-do:

  • Make sure the room is sanitized and every corner free of dust before moving new furniture in

  • Plan the layout to ensure that there’s a place for everything, ample space for moving around, and efficient work flow (have a mummy friend check your layout to see if it makes sense for baby’s daily routines)

  • Consider using wall decals instead of re-painting the room

  • Have black-out curtains installed (and cleaned)

  • Do basic babyproofing by covering wall outlets – avoiding purchasing furniture with sharp corners as well

  • Include assembly with delivery to avoid having to do it yourself (especially when you’re heavily pregnant)

  • Wash baby’s clothes, towels, and sheets – plus figure out how to work appliances like the baby monitor and bottle sterilizer – two weeks before your delivery date
